Spotlight Child Program
The Spotlight Child Program is the entry point into becoming a CC4C Family. Applications open each year on August 1st and close in January. While there is no set number of children accepted annually, typically 5–10 new Spotlight Children join the program each year. At any given time, CC4C supports 12–16 Spotlight Children, spanning both their first and second years.

Spotlight Children commit to a two-year program, where they and their families receive special support, encouragement, and community connection—including financial assistance, wellness resources, Dream Teams, uplifting events, and even special deliveries and cards from volunteers. After their two years, they continue with CC4C as Champion Children until age 19, and then as Alumni at age 19.
CC4C accepts applications for our Spotlight Child Program each fiscal year which begins on August 1st. The age criteria for the Spotlight Child is 5-18 years (age 5 by September 1, 2026) with residency in Austin and its suburbs.
Our Spotlight Child Program includes the following for 2 years:
-
Financial Medical Assistance – Opportunity to apply for reimbursement of eligible medical expenses not covered by insurance (e.g., testing, therapies, equipment, travel).
-
Dream Teams – A matched volunteer group (e.g., high school team, business, arts group) that offers uplifting experiences and honorary membership for your child—building friendship, confidence, and belonging.
-
Family Well-Being – Connection to peer support and community resources for the entire family, including TRIBE gatherings, Family Fun Days, and special events.
-
Uplifting Trips – Sponsored group trip to the National Ability Center in Park City, Utah (adaptive experiences that create joyful memories and expand what’s possible).
The Spotlight Child Application period will begin on August 1, 2026.

The Journey with CC4C
Years 1–2: Spotlight Child
Families begin their journey with CC4C as Spotlight Children, where they receive special support, encouragement, and community connection. This includes access to financial medical assistance, whole-family wellness resources, Dream Teams, uplifting events, and thoughtful touches like special deliveries and cards from volunteers.
Through age 19: Champion Child
After completing their two years as a Spotlight Child, each child continues with CC4C as a Champion Child. In this stage, they carry forward the friendships, confidence, and community they’ve gained—remaining part of events, receiving ongoing encouragement, and continuing to be celebrated for their strength and spirit.
Age 19 and Beyond: Alumni
At age 19, children transition into CC4C’s Alumni community, and they remain a cherished part of the CC4C family. Alumni carry forward the friendships, confidence, and hope built through their years as Spotlight and Champion Children, and they continue to be celebrated as lifelong members of our community.
