Sibling Adventures

Sibling Adventures

BECAUSE SIBLINGS SHINE TOO

"Having a sibling with a disability teaches you poise, compassion and strength, but it also comes with a cost.” -Elina Merchencko

At CC4C, we believe every child deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and included. That’s why our Sibling Adventures program creates intentional time for the often-overlooked heroes of the rare disease journey—brothers and sisters. These special outings are hosted twice a year and give siblings and parents a chance to step away from medical routines, enjoy a day of fun, and build great memories together.

CC4C’s Sibling Adventure Day took place at Inner Space Caverns and focused on the brothers and sisters of children with rare or undiagnosed conditions. These siblings often take on unique roles within their families, showing resilience, compassion, and strength in ways that can go unseen. The event was a chance to build community, create joyful memories, help the siblings feel supported within the CC4C community.

Why It Matters

When a child has a rare or undiagnosed condition, parents often face overwhelming demands that can unintentionally shift attention away from siblings. Sibling Adventures helps restore balance by:

  • Strengthening Family Bonds: Creating quality time for parents and siblings to connect.

  • Honoring Siblings: Recognizing their unique role and the challenges they face with love and celebration.

  • Reducing Stress: Offering families a much-needed break from daily routines.

  • Building Confidence and Belonging: Helping siblings know they are valued, supported, and part of a larger CC4C family.

More Than a Day of Fun

Whether it’s a day at the ballpark, an outing to a local attraction, or a creative adventure designed for all ages, these experiences are filled with laughter and connection.

Sibling Adventures remind families that healing happens together, and that every member of the family deserves time to thrive.
