Following a long journey to find answers, Harper was diagnosed at age three with Dias-Logan syndrome, which is caused by a rare genetic mutation in the BCL11A gene. This syndrome causes ongoing challenges with speech, language, behavior, development, and academics. Although she understands many concepts, expressing what she knows is difficult, which can lead to frustration. Even so, Harper is determined, eager to learn, and works incredibly hard.

Harper is a friendly, confident, and compassionate child who naturally draws people in. She loves giving hugs, leads during play, and is always looking for ways to help others. Her caring nature earned her the Empathy Award in her kindergarten class. She has a vivid imagination and enjoys pretend play, especially caring for her dolls. Outdoors, she loves climbing, exploring, running, splashing, and selfies.

Music is one of Harper's greatest joys. She loves to dance, sing, and perform with a microphone in hand. She learns best through repetition, hands-on activities, visual demonstrations, and music. Harper's resilience, joyful spirit, and determination inspire everyone around her as she faces each new challenge with courage and curiosity.
