When Joshua was 2 ½ years old, he started falling and collapsing a lot. The family sought out doctors who stated he was falling due to growing. At age 5, a MRI showed lesions and growth plates on his knee and he was diagnosed with Chronic and Reoccurring Multi Osteomyelitis and JRA. Joshua has a 1 in a million-bone marrow disease, it causes tumors, lesions in the bones and it is very painful, and he can't walk at times. His condition is so rare that there is only 300 people in the whole United States who also have the same condition as Joshua. He gets high fevers and is sick. He currently goes to a research hospital in Maryland to receive new research medicine. He currently takes mild chemo pills weekly and receives IV infusions every 8 weeks which take 5 hours to receive this treatment. He has missed 60 days of school this school year so far due to his illness.
