Updated: Mar 12

CC4C Welcomes New Staff Members!

Chief Engagement Officer, Cara Fox

Cara is responsible for building CC4C's organizational capacity, sustainability, community support and partnerships. Cara has spent her 20-year career building nonprofits aligned with the core values of support, connection and empowerment. Prior to joining CC4C, she held leadership roles as an Executive Director and Development Director as well as owning her own nonprofit consulting business. Mainly, her focus has been on organizations impacting general child welfare as well as grief support. These have given her a unique appreciation for the importance of a community for families during times of crisis.  Cara is also a dedicated volunteer, serving on the Board of Directors of an organization that promotes family volunteering and youth leadership. Additionally, she serves on several committees with her church and on a committee with the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Cara has a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Public Administration, both from The University of Texas at Austin. She lives in Austin with her husband and three sons.

Program Events and Grant Manager, Mikayla Mutscher

Mikayla is a recent graduate from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Corporate Communication Studies. Her career background lies in nonprofit operations and events, specifically cause-related races and educational conferences for teens.  Through her past experience working for Susan G. Komen and the YMCA, she gained relevant experience in managing the lifecycle of events, including venue selection, vendor management, volunteer management, event execution and post-event data analysis.

CC4C Champion Child Milestone

About a year ago, Sophia could hardly go from the car into a store without needing a wheelchair. A couple of weeks ago, she ended up walking home from her friends house and walked for 2.2 miles! Also, she was just nominated for the honor roll society and was accepted. We are so proud of you Sophia!

Supporter Spotlight: National Charity League (NCL), Lake Travis

NCL is a multi-generational philanthropic organization of mother and daughters who volunteer close to three million hours annually to over 4,000 charities in the United States. The Lake Travis chapter of NCL has been a steadfast partner in our mission for the last few years. Their passionate volunteers have helped with our Project Valentine, Run To Uplift and our Night To Uplift in BIG ways!  Most recently, when COVID-19 hit, this group found themselves with an excess 2020 events budget. They quickly voted to donate that money to CC4C kids, understanding that this crisis impacts children and families with a compromised immune system the most. They included the sweetest letter along with their donation of over $500! Our team was blown away with this thoughtfulness and benevolence! Please help us thank them!
