About Cheyanna’s Champions 4 Children (CC4C) CC4C builds and supports teams around families with children with rare and undiagnosed conditions. Each year, CC4C welcomes 12 new families, matching the children with a high school team and providing financial assistance and family-focused health and wellness programs. CC4C provides additional outreach, support, and resources thanks to our staff, board members and volunteers. CC4C has served over 100 families and enthusiastically works to reach the high demand of serving more. As CC4C prepares to welcome our new Executive Director, we are excited for our next steps and continued development. About the Executive Director role The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include development, fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. This position reports directly to the Board of Directors. Board Governance: Works with CC4C Board of Directors in order to fulfill the organization mission.

  • Lead CC4C in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.

  • Communicate effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.

  • Develop, maintain, and support a strong board of directors; serve as ex-officio of each committee, seek and build board involvement with strategic direction.

Financial Performance and Viability: Develops resources to manage and analyze the financial health of the organization.

  • Manage the fiscal integrity of CC4C to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of CC4C.

  • Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resources utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.

  • Develop and maintain sound financial practices.

  • Jointly, with Board of Directors, conduct official correspondence of the organization, and jointly, with designated officers, execute legal financial documents.

Fundraising & Communications: Bring in revenue streams to CC4C through grants, donations and special events.

  • Develop a sustainable three-year Development Plan outlining fundraising goals and objectives to raise vital funds in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. Development Plan will include identifying prospective individual and corporate donors and develop strategies to cultivate those relationships.

  • Expand existing revenue generating and fundraising activities and other revenues to support CC4C’s mission.

  • Meet prospective donors and supporters on a continual basis to establish effective communication with them.

  • Grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors.

  • Oversee grant seeking including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements

  • Oversee fundraising database and tracking systems.

  • Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.

  • Serve as CC4C’s primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media and the general public. Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.

Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with board and staff to ensure CC4C mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach.

  • Responsible for the implementation of CC4C’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission.

  • Strategically plan to ensure that CC4C can successfully fulfill its mission into the future

  • Enhance CC4C’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations.

  • Develop effective systems to track program progress, and regularly evaluate program components, to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders and other constituents.

Organization Operations: Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.

  • Actively engage and energize CC4C nonprofit volunteers, board members, event committees, alumni, partnering organizations and funders.

  • Lead, coach, develop, and retain CC4C nonprofit’s high-performance senior management team.

  • Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.

  • Strategic planning and implementation.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance CC4C’s mission.

  • Oversee marketing and other communication efforts.

  • Establish employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day to day operation of CC4C.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Expected expertise and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters preferred.

  • Three years minimum of nonprofit or corporate experience.

  • Past success working with a board of directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships.

  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation.

  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams.

  • High level strategic thinking and planning. Ability to envision and convey the organization’s strategic future to the staff, board, volunteers and donors.

  • Ability to effectively communicate the organization’s mission to donors, volunteers and the overall community.

  • A history of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results

  • Active fundraising experience. Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of the funding community.

  • Previous success in establishing relationships with individuals and organizations of influence including funders, partner agencies and volunteers.

  • Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.

  • Strong public speaking ability.

  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning.

  • Passion, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven and self-directed.

  • Working knowledge of Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM.
